Tongue twisting, teeth shattering, seizure enduncing psych punk, noise pop stabs all the way from Europe’s California – Portugal – since 2014 The Sunflowers are a heat wave in the cold, static times we live in. With the perfect amounts of confused riffs, slurred lines and feedback insanity, the Portuguese outfit has managed to cleanse the mind and body of all of those who crossed paths with them.
In over a 100 shows, they’ve shared the stage with Oh Sees, Black Lips, La Femme, The Blind Shake, Tomorrow’s Tulips… and have played festivals such as Festival Indigènes (FR), Inner City Psych Fest (SA) and Reverence Portugal (PT)
Their debut album was first released in 2016 through the independent portuguese label “O Cão da Garagem” and had a second pressing in 2017, through the french label “Only Lovers Records”. 2017 will see the dawn of the new record, filled with songs they wrote on their most recent travels where they explore the contours of psych, the realms of punk and constant nausea of the world around them.
A european tour is being booked for November/December to present it, passing through Spain, France, Italy, Germany, U.K., … And they are also making an apperance at this year’s Endless Daze Festival in South Africa, after a successful tour there in April 2017.
