Runaway Nuns are an explosive 5-piece garage-punk band drenched in a wave of surf, formed in late 2015 by a group of friends, most of them having known each other since high school, they burst onto the Cape Town music scene dropping jaws with every performance.
Their sound is influenced by many different genres new and old, from 60s garage/psychedelic/punk acts like The Bad Seeds, The Monks and The Knack to more blues/rockabilly orientated acts like The Cramps, Howlin Wolf & Robert Johnson.
“The Nuns” have played every major venue in Cape Town since their resurrection. They recently completed a JHB/PTA tour to an overwhelming appeal of their return.
Having released 3 singles and the grooviest of EPs, they are pushing the envelope with multiple releases a year.
Rumours are swirling their forth coming EP is their best yet and is set to change the game in the Cape Town garage scene.
